SANDWICH INSTRUCTIONS (We will assemble sandwiches together in the Hall)
Thank you for participating in the Cathedral of Saint Joseph Sandwich Ministry. You will be contributing to an important ministry – each year we give out about 6,000 sandwiches.
The sandwiches will be frozen so it is important that they are made only of meat and cheese and perhaps a little mustard or ketchup. No mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc. Also salad sandwiches, ham salad, egg salad, tuna salad, etc. cannot be used. Two slices of meat and a slice of cheese makes a good sandwich. Do not use diet or lite bread. Any other kind is fine. In addition to ham, turkey, etc., our guests also like spicy meats like bologna and salami. The cheese variety is up to you. Bring whatever’s on sale!
Place the whole sandwich into a sandwich baggie and replace it into the bread loaf sleeve. This provides two layers of plastic protection for freezing. You can generally fit 9 sandwiches per sleeve. Label the bread sleeve with the date the sandwiches were made, and the name of your church. If you like, you may also bring snack bags full of cookies – our guests really like those! Thank you and God bless! Cathedral of St. Joseph Sandwich Ministry
