Dispensation from the Lenten Obligation to abstain from meat on St. Patrick's Day

Since St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Friday this year, Archbishop Blair as formally dispensed those “for whom this is an especially joyful celebration from the Lenten obligation to abstain from meat that day”. He encourages you to choose another day on which to transfer the Lenten abstinence.
