The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), is the process for initiation into the Catholic Church for adults who have not been baptized, have been baptized in a different Christian tradition, or who have been baptized Catholic and have not received the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation. The process includes several stages marked by study, prayer and rites at Mass. Participants undergo a process of conversion as they study the Gospel, profess faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church, and receive the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and Holy Eucharist.
The facilitators of RCIA are members of St. Ann’s Parish who, as God’s stewards, are committed to share their time and talents as a knowledgeable and caring group who work with the RCIA candidates on a weekly basis teaching about the sacraments, doctrine and crucial matters of the catholic faith to those adults who wish to become fully received into the Catholic Church during the Easter Vigil Mass. In addition to preparation for weekly classes, team members attend various workshops and retreats throughout the year.
