Acts is a story of hope. It’s the story of a few Christians empowered by the Holy Spirit were chosen to bring Christ and the Good News to the ends of the earth. They taught as Christ did. They performed miracles as he did. Some even gave their lives for him. They faced secular forces, internal strife, hostile crowds, and despite all of this, they brought the kingdom of God to a broken world and the love of God to the hearts of men. Acts provides an historic framework for understanding the rest of the New Testament. Paul’s letters in particular come alive in a new way when they are read within the context of the Acts narrative.
